LSU at the CLC:

My report on INTERNATIONAL news;
It is still snowing here after what has been the worst blizzard China has experienced in 50 years. 24 people have already been reported dead. Transport is in chaos as thousands of passengers were said to have been stuck on trains. Warnings of blackouts were given out in 17 provinces. All this comes at a particularly busy time of the year as hundreds of thousands of people – mostly migrant workers -- try to make it home in time for the Chinese New Year which starts on February 7th. Hundreds of police and soldiers struggled to control 200,000 travellers stranded by the awful weather. Many of those people lay in disappointment realising that their trains had been cancelled and wouldn’t get them home in time for the festivities.
