LSU school report - Emma x

Local News Report

Hello, and the local news headlines today are as follows…

The police have been criticized for failing to report a brutal attack on a teenager. And an inquest hears that a pensioner was crushed to death by a bus.

Now more on our top story…

I’m here at the crime scene of a brutal attack of a 15 year old boy needing hospital treatment after being attacked with a broken bottle during running battles between teenage gangs in Kentish Town at the weekend. Now witnesses and residents are criticizing the police for failing to record or investigate the attack. The senior officer of the area, inspector David Peddison-Grant has pledged an immediate investigation and said the officer concerned will be spoken to.

And bus driver, Saleh Suhel, was found guilty at Westminster Magistrates court this weekend after having collided with homeless pensioner aged 72, Bryan Cann, at the three lane stretch of Adelaide Road between the intersection with Finchley and Avenue Road in November 2007. When asked by the coroner how he had failed to spot Mr. Cann, Mr. Suhel said I was looking over my shoulder to see my blind spot on the left. He was fined £500 and disqualified from driving for a year.

This is Emma reporting for the BBC school news report, back to Amelia.
